Overview
The project consisted of a new 48,393 sf, two-story mathematics and computer science facility containing biology and anatomy laboratories with cadaver and cell tissue research facilities, classrooms, offices and conference rooms.
The construction of a 200 linear foot by 20-ft tall cast-in-place retaining wall, which also acted as the back wall of the structure, created a unique challenge to the project.
The building was placed directly over the existing site utility corridor and many site utilities had to be relocated and upgraded to code without any shutdowns during instructional time. All utilities were rerouted without any downtime to the campus.
