Celebrating the City of Indio New City Hall and Library Groundbreaking

What an exciting time for the City of Indio as they celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Civic Center Campus on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. In collaboration with Holt Architecture, this project includes construction of a new 3-story, 36,285 sf City Hall Building and a new 7,814 sf library with surrounding site work including parking, photovoltaic canopies, and a public plaza. City of Indio Mayor, Lupe Ramos Amith, stated, “Today marks a significant milestone in the continued growth and progress of our beloved city. As your mayor, I am thrilled to witness the commencement of this ambitious project. One that reflects our commitment to building a stronger, more vibrant community for generations to come. The construction of our new city hall and library symbolizes our dedication to fostering knowledge, civic engagement, and the overall wellbeing of our residents.”

This is the latest project to transform the City of Indio and help meet the growing needs of their community. The event was held at what will be the new home to City Hall and the City Library where City Officials, County of Riverside representatives, City staff and community members were all in attendance to celebrate this milestone. Bryan Montgomery, City Manager, said, “There have been so many wonderful things that have taken place in the City of Indio since 1930 when we became a city, but we owe it to our children, our grandchildren, our neighbors, to have the best years for Indio to be in front of us not behind us.”

Mayor Ramos Amith said, “This groundbreaking ceremony is not just about the physical structures we will be constructing, it will symbolize our collective vision for a thriving and interconnected community. It is a testament to the hard work and collaboration of our citizens who support us, our local businesses, who are the heartbeat of our community, and government officials, who have come together to shape the future of our city.”  Bryant Ismerio, Tilden-Coil Project Executive expressed his gratitude to those in attendance and said, “We want to thank the City of Indio for their partnership, it truly has been a great several years and we look forward to many more years of partnering with the city. What is most important and what really brings the biggest reward to what we do on a regular basis is events like this because we see the impacts that our buildings truly have on the community, on the end users, on the clients, and on everybody that is involved with it.”

Congratulations to the project team and all those involved in this beautiful addition to the community!
