RUSD Celebrates the Groundbreaking of Casa Blanca Elementary School
The community of Casa Blanca is finally seeing the realization of their long-held dream for the restoration of their community school. On November 16th, Riverside Unified School District joined together with Casa Blanca's Community Action Group, Go Architects, Tilden-Coil Constructors and other valued members of the community to proudly acknowledge the groundbreaking moment that will shape the future of the Casa Blanca community. Casa Blanca Elementary School will be comprehensive, whole, interconnected, welcoming and secure, reflecting the community’s rich culture and contributing to neighborhood pride and community engagement.
The new elementary school will be comprised of six main buildings on a 9.8-acre campus and serve approximately 850 students. This transformative project is designed to organize classrooms into three, two-story grade clusters, or “Learning Villages,” arranged around outdoor learning spaces and flexible lab/maker spaces. The site will also include a multipurpose building with an attached music lab and food service program, an Administration/Library/Media Center/Special Education building and one Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten classroom building.
What an exciting time for the community and all those involved! We are proud to be a partner on this monumental project in shaping the futures of students for generations to come.
