These two new buildings are located at the intersection of Yucca Ave and Twentynine Palms Highway in Downtown Twentynine Palms. The new Community Center will serve as a recreational hub for the City's youth and adults, and further includes a new entry plaza, a large stage, a three-block-long paseo, and 350 new parking spaces. The professional-grade kitchen will be used to teach culinary arts to students from local high schools and Copper Mountain College. Another special feature of this center will be the incorporation of a cultural museum component centered around telling the human history of the area and containing native artifacts previously unseen from the Campbell Collection.
On Saturday March 12th, there was an all-day public celebration for the new facilities that began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event included a farmer's market, local vendors, live bands, a late-night silent disco, and a beer garden.
