The projected consisted of a new state-of-the-art performing arts center. The structure was comprised of cast in place concrete, grouted masonry, structural steel and concrete filled metal decks. The audience chamber includes 700 seats, with 2nd level balcony seating. The acoustics are controlled with hard board acoustical clouds, 2’ wide wavy walls with 20” depth of wave, and acoustical fluted plaster sections. The HVAC distribution is under floor with registers underneath individual seats. The exterior façade includes two-story storefront walls, a curved staircase, exterior metal paneling, and aluminum architectural louvers, which track the movement of the sun
Extensive use of building information modeling and coordination were required to solve many complex challenges, including with the displacement ventilation mechanical system below the auditorium seating.
